Joseph Furtado is an accomplished play-by-play broadcaster and on-air personality with extensive experience across multiple platforms. Currently, Furtado is the play-by-play voice of the Monroe Moccasins in the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL). His portfolio includes calling games for notable networks, and stations such as Pac-12 Network, Gulf Coast Sports and Entertainment Network, KNOE 8 News, WBRZ (ABC) and Blaze Radio, showcasing his ability to deliver dynamic and engaging commentary across a wide range of sports.

Prior to joining the Moccasins, Furtado served as the play-by-play announcer for the Baton Rouge Zydeco during the 2023-24 FPHL season. His deep understanding of hockey, shaped by nearly two decades of playing the sport himself, adds a unique and insightful perspective to his broadcasts.

A proud alumni of the prestigious Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, Furtado holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Sports Journalism and a Master of Arts in Mass Communication. During his time at ASU, he founded the ASU Women's Hockey and InfernoTV clubs, spearheading initiatives that enhanced student broadcasting opportunities and expanded audience reach.

Beyond the rink, Furtado's diverse on-air experience includes MMJ, sideline reporting, anchoring, weather segments and in-depth storytelling. His commitment to professionalism and excellence in sports media continues to define his career, as he works toward his goal of one day calling games in the National Hockey League.
